INTRODUCING: Steven A. Clark
Steven A. Clark is a singer, songwriter, and producer raised in Fayetteville, NC. We, (Mr. Familiar) first teamed up with Clark in 2008 after being introduced to him by our friend/local rap artist Phresh James during a recording session in downtown Miami.
Since day 1 we exchanged musical ideas, our instrumentals and his songwriting, his instrumentals and our opinions .. NEVER NOT WORKING, even if all we did was sit in a cipher and listen.
In 2009, Steven moved to the New York/New Jersey area.. this is where "Stripes", his debut EP, was written. Upon conceptualizing "Stripes", Steven A. Clark flew back down to Miami to link with Mr. Familiar and make "The Mothership", our recording studio, his home for 7days.. to work with us in an attempt to make the album sound bigger and more unique, certainly trying to get the best possible sound out of the entire project.
With that being said, sometime during the first quarter of 2011, Steven A. Clark, Mr. Familiar and The FREE LVE Collective bring to you "Stripes".
Below is the first single "Super Hero" off of Clark's debut album and another song off of the EP called "Angel Of Death". Hope y'all dig it.
Written & Produced by Steven A. Clark, Co-Produced by Mr.Familiar.
"As human beings we tend to endlessly hope for a savior, whether that savior appears in the form of a super hero or some type of grand occurrence, we live our lives assuming we’ll be rescued at one point. In many cases that super hero is unnecessary and the liberation starts with you." - FreeLve

ARTICLE: "Albert Vargas x ClockWork Victrola" interview and LIVE acoustics.
Below is the music feature from ClockWorkVictrola.com. BIG thank you's to everyone involved. Lia & Christina from Clockwork, Christian Arevalo, and Christine Posso for the film work.
"We are sitting silently in the glow of one solitary lightbulb, swaying our hollowed heads in unison as we are serenaded by gentle picks at nylon strings and a voice that never becomes more than a whisper. For a few seconds as the voice begins the bridge to Bicycle for Two, softly cooing “oh moon answer me, who can spare some shuteye?” it feels as if it is somehow supernaturally making love to the entire room of people.
Albert Vargas is a Miami-based artist who plays somber, heartfelt music that resembles what I can only describe as the brush of lips against a clavicle. His album LoveLoveLove is a series of sedate, lovesick tracks with the occasional adrenaline injection.
We have the pleasure of speaking outside of his studio and he tells stories of growing up attempting to mimic Elliot Smith and listening to Bob Marley religiously. Between the sounds of cars speeding past us he earnestly explains his theory that music is tangible, “real as you, me, and the cowboy boots you’re wearing,” chuckling at his spontaneous metaphor. One of my favorite tracks on the album is Dakota, and at my insistance, Vargas reveals the story behind the delicately woven lyrics “…and you can sing so sweet and make me feel so warm, put me right to bed, hello good morning sunshine what’s the weather like inside that cool, that calm breeze color scheme you’ve got there…it really suits you fine.” For him, it commemorates a rare occasion where the powerful bluesy voice of a woman caused his knees to buckle and his voice to falter, leaving his lyrics as his only chance at redemption. The rest of the tracks are superbly mixed and layered over a classical guitar foundation, exploring plot lines from Albert’s own life, and themes of love and sex."
"Albert shared an exclusive acoustic performance of LoveLoveLove, Bicycle for Two, and Maracuya for the Victrola. Enjoy below and be sure to check out his Bandcamp page and stream the entire album!"
